A Revolutionary Idea.
What if a revolution were to begin at the top end of society instead of the other way around. iIt would flip Marx's political-economic evolution theory on its head. The feasibility factor is of course very low as those at the higher end of society have the most to loose by bucking the status quo. Even if they are already loosing and their demise is inevitable. Like the fall of high society in Russia, China and Cuba they may have become too comfortable in their cozy little lives as well as overconfident in their power, wealth and status too notice the beast knocking at their door.
While the upper middle and lower upper classes may be some what cognizant, and a few even sound the alarm, not enough are willing to acknowledge and act to save not only themselves but the entire society, community, and country.
The revolutionary idea is so obvious that it is easily overlooked.
The idea is simply this: All business owners, the 1% and those making over $100,000 quit, close up shop, freeze all spending and request the government payback every dime they put into social security insurance and unemployment insurance plus interest.
While some may think this is the same idea that Ayn Rand proposed in Atlas Shrugged. The difference is that Ayn's version was reactionary, not revolutionary. My idea dies not wait for the end to come first and then flea to build a new society. My idea would reboot the political-economical reality in an attempt to save the American society.

Big Cerberus
So I recently posted on facebook about a 3 headed beast (Big Government,Big Business & Big Media) and I realized those are the kind of posts I should be making on my blog. So here is a bit of a recap with some added commentary.
While Big Cerberus has been a bane in the human race for centuries it has been rejuvenated and growing more and more powerful in the last 20 years.
Historically in America The Big Cerberus was outlawed by the US Constitution. Regardless the beast became strong in the late 19th century with the bastardizing of the commerce clause and the industrial revolution. Teddy Roosevelt attempted to cut off one of the heads with his anti-trust laws and often tamed another with big speeches and a popularity that kept Big Media at bay.
The beast would return at the end of the first world war and grow stronger throughout the roaring 20's while waiting for it's biggest proponent. Ironically it was another Roosevelt, FDR who would unleash the beast to it's fullest extent onto the American populace. The beast became so strong that it aided FDR in procuring a life term as president. An unthinkable idea in America since Washington refused a 3rd term as he believed it was akin to trading in one monarch for another. FDR and his pet Cerberus obviously had no problem with a new monarchy.
The beast would again return during the reign of LBJ. But Johnson, due to the emergence of the counter culture and the Vietnam War, was unable to keep all heads (namely Big Media) in check. That said LBJ was successful in creating an environment sufficient for nourishing and grooming the beast.
While Nixon's Chinese policy and Reagan's treatise with the USSR as well as their domestic policies kept the beast at bay Big Government supporters in congress made their best attempts to keep Big Cerberus alive. This was most evident in the Savings and Loans scandal of the late 80's.
The ineptitude of George HW Bush and the election of Bill Clinton set forth the current reign of the beast. While the House under Newt Gingrich made attempts to put the beast back in it's cage it was not strong enough to wrestle even one head into submission. I believe that it is important to note at this time that the beast is not merely the product of one party. Throughout the last two centuries both parties have released the beast in the populace. The current strength of the beast is a direct result of collusion between Big Government supporters: Republicans & Democrats in the Senate & President Clinton, Big Media: (Hollywood, national &international news agencies), and Big Business: (big banks, big energy, unions and big manufacturing).
Throughout the 90's and 2000's big business and big media kept getting bigger as big government fed certain friends. It became a feeding frenzy as big businesses and big media ate up their smaller competition and mergers became commonplace. Big Government also grew with new acquisitions and control over private entities and an exponential increase in entitlements as well as an unprecedented increase in spending.
The TARP, election of Big Government champion Obama, Big business bailouts, and Big Media collaboration since 2008 has given the beast the strongest throat hold on the American people since King George. Just this week a bill was proposed in the House to repeal the 22nd amendment which limits the president to two terms. While highly unlikely to pass even the mere idea shows the true nature and ideals of the Big Cerberus.

Welcome
It also reminded me of the Chinese man standing in front of the row of Tanks in Tiananmen Square on June 4th 1989.
And of the American revolution which was begun by the signing of a piece of paper declaring our independence and won through a war which began with a shot heard round the world.
Now I do not have any belief that this blog will be even remotely as influential or revolutionary as those mentioned above but I hope that my thoughts and ideas will be entertaining if not enlightening.
